Yachiyo’s businesses mainly consist of Parts production business to consistently manufacture fuel tanks and sunroofs from development to manufacturing, and vehicle production business to manufacturing minicars (Kei cars). Yachiyo has accumulated technologies and know-how for totally considering automobile manufacturing from viewpoints of both parts production business and vehicle production business.
As for Parts production business, Yachiyo manufactures sheet metal parts and plastic parts, centering on design, development and manufacturing of fuel tanks and sunroofs that are automotive functional parts.
As for the vehicle production business, Yachiyo started the manufacturing of the Honda “STEP VAN” in 1972. In 1985, Yachiyo established the Yokkaichi Factory, and has manufactured more than 4.3 million Honda minicars so far.
Yachiyo expanded the manufacturing of special needs vehicles and special purpose vehicles in 2012.
In addition, Yachiyo challenges new fields utilizing technologies and know-how obtained through these experiences, aiming to become a “company recognized and valued by society”.
Currently, Yachiyo has 10 domestic bases and 16 overseas bases including its subsidiaries, and expands its businesses globally. The distinctive products utilizing its superior technologies unique to Yachiyo receive high evaluation from domestic and overseas automobile manufacturers including Honda Groups.
Fuel tanks are parts for storing gasoline and light oil as automotive fuel. Because fuel is highly flammable, fuels tanks are regarded as important safety-related parts. Yachiyo commercialized “4 type-6 layer” fuel tanks having improved gasoline permeation prevention property first in Japan.
A Sunroof mounted on an automotive roof, served as an opening, brings sun brightness and fresh air inside the automobile, and creates spaciousness and refreshing feeling.
Sheet metal parts are important parts served as the automotive framework. In order to maintain the precision of automobiles, sheet metal parts are required to have especially high precision among automotive parts.
Yachiyo carries out from molding to painting of automotive external appearance and interior parts, such as bumpers and instrument panels.
Yachiyo started contract-manufacturing of the Honda “STEP VAN” in 1972 and established the Yokkaichi Factory in 1985 to contract-manufacture the Honda minicars.
Yachiyo has manufactured more than 4.3 million cars with its own method in which a plurality of vehicles such as passenger cars, trucks and vans are randomly manufactured in the single manufacturing line.
Yachiyo manufactures special needs vehicles based on Honda cars for disabled persons and persons who require assistance when getting in and out of cars, and builds the bodies of corporate cars such as emergency vehicles (e.g. police vehicles and fire engines) and delivery vehicles.
The motorcycle market expands with the growth of emerging countries, and is expected to continuously expand in the future. In addition, motorcycle parts are required to have high quality of external appearance for individual parts.
Yachiyo Group has the unified manufacturing system from development to metal stamping and surface treatment of motorcycle parts such as fuel tanks, frames, handlebars and fenders.
Yachiyo proceeds with consideration on new businesses utilizing its own technologies and know-how cultivated through the manufacturing of automotive parts etc., aiming to challenge commercialization of a new business other than the automotive field.
